Introduction

At St Albans, a beautiful historic church, the leadership faced an urgent need to replace an outdated boiler system that was both costly to run and nearing failure. Rev Martha Weatherill was very particular about what the team required for the church, so a lot of care was taken when specifying the Onyx zero glare units to ensure they complemented the church’s timeless interior. Seeking a sustainable and efficient heating solution, St Albans turned to Connect for a modern upgrade. By installing discreet Connect Infrared Heaters paired with smart zonal controls, we helped the church move closer to its net-zero goals while delivering reliable, energy-efficient warmth.

Our team began by visiting the church to assess the space, the heating needs, and the limitations posed by its layout. After discussing the long-term goals with the church leaders, we recommended a discreet system using Connect Infrared Heaters. This solution would blend seamlessly into the church’s architectural style while providing efficient, targeted warmth.

Installation Process:

Steps Taken – St Albans Installation Process:

Electrical Assessment: An on site electrical survey confirmed that the church already had a three-phase electrical supply, enabling a straightforward integration of the new heating system.
Heater Installation: Onyx Zero Light heaters were installed in their designated areas, along with a single heater in the vestry, with careful consideration for both aesthetics and performance.
Control System Setup: A new three-phase board was installed and upgraded to accommodate future heating expansions. The control hub and app connectivity were configured and tested to ensure user-friendly operation.
